Opening: Ask: When does a good created thing begin to function like an ultimate thing? Keep answers general rather than personal.

Say:

Genesis 3 begins by distorting God’s word and goodness.
The humans move from seeing and desiring to taking, hiding, and blaming.
Romans 1 describes an exchange: Creator for creation, gratitude for futility, truth for falsehood.
Modern idol language can expose controlling loyalties, but it must not become careless labeling of people or interests.

Ask:
