Objective: Students explain the biblical covenant interpretation of exile and its limits for modern disaster claims.

Opening: Ask: What different explanations can people give for the same national catastrophe?

Say:

Second Kings does not present Assyria or Babylon as gods stronger than the Lord.
The narrator and prophets interpret exile through long covenant unfaithfulness and rejected warnings.
The empires remain morally accountable; being used in judgment does not make their violence righteous.
Lamentations shows that truthful judgment language should not eliminate grief, compassion, or protest.
